*  On Nov. 8, 2005, the National Association for Survey and Design Institutes in Machine-Building Industry announced a list of projects that were awarded with excellent survey and design prizes by the Association in its ninth session. The following projects that were designed by SIMEE are on the list:
      1.Shanghai Automotive Quality Test Center was awarded with first prize.
      2.Shanghai Tianshan Middle School and the Painting Line of Yizheng Mini Bus       Factory, Shanghai Huizhong Automotive Co., Ltd were awarded with second prizes.
      3.The Design Code of Energy Conservation in Machine-Building Industry, The       Stipulations of Design Depth for Construction Engineering in Machine-Building       Industry, The Project of Production of Nickel-Enveloped Steel Planchets, Shanghai       Mint and Qingdao Industrial Park of Qingdao CIMC Container Manufacturing Co.,       Ltd. were awarded with third prizes.

*  SIMEE ranked fortieth on the list of《Top One Hundred Corporations Sequenced in Yearly Turnovers of General Contracting Service》, released by the National Survey and Design Association and the National Engineering Consultants Union in Nov. 2005.

*  SIMEE was again and ranked fifty-seventh among the top one hundred engineering design institutes as released by the Construction Ministry of the State Council in July 2005 based on the statistical data in 2004 annals submitted by survey and design corporations nationwide.

*  Mr. He Xiaoping assumed the office of the executive director, the legal representative, the president and the deputy-secretary of CPC Committee of Shanghai Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd. in June 2005.

*  SIMEE was honored with “Shanghai Model Unit” in June 2005 for the seventh time in succession.

*  Design of the Technical Renovation Project of No.1 Factory, Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. won a gold medal of the year 2004 in the 11th national excellent engineering design appraisal held in 2004 and design of Hua-dong Teksid Automotive Foundry CO., Ltd. won a bronze medal in the appraisal, both were made by SIMEE. The appraisal was held in May 2005.

*  Design of the painting line of Yizheng Automotive Co., Ltd. of Shanghai Huizhong Automotive Co., Ltd. for top and middle grade sedan cars, which was made by SIMEE was honored with second prize of the year 2004 of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, appraised in May 2005.

*  Suzhou Nisheng Wanli Hotel (rated five star) that was designed by SIMEE was inaugurated for business in Feb. 2005.

*  SIMEE ranked twenty-seventh on the list of top one hundred corporations sequenced in turnovers of general contracting service in year 2003, released by the National Survey and Design Association and the National Engineering Consultants Union in Jan. 2005.

*  SIMEE was again and ranked thirty-fourth among the top one hundred project design institutes as announced by the Construction Ministry of the State Council in Aug. 2004 based on the statistical data in 2003 annals delivered by survey and design corporations nationwide.

*  SIMEE was officially transformed into a corporate enterprise on June 30, 2004 and renamed as Shanghai Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Corporation Limited from the first of July 2004 and then on.

*  SIMEE was awarded with one first prize, two second prizes and five third prizes in 8th year 2004 national excellent survey and design appraisal in machine-building industry and 7th national excellent construction engineering design appraisal, held in June 2004, a year that was notched on SIMEE’s history with record high number of prizes awarded by the National Association of Machine-Building Industry.

      1.Changjiang Project and the Boiler House Works of Shanghai Volkswagen           Automotive Co., Ltd.
      2.General Technologies for Coating and Painting Equipment (JB/T10394.1-4-2002)
      3.Development and Technical Renovation of ABS, Fittings of Front-Wheel           Caliper and Braking system for Top and Middle Grade Cars
      4.The Combined Workshop of the General Automobile Gears Works, Shanghai           Automotive Joint Stock Limited Company.
      5.The Technical Renovation Project of Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Trim Systems           Co., Ltd., an adaptive project to the third generation of Santana cars

*  The design of the Passatt Project of Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. was awarded with a gold medal of year 2002 honored by the 10th national excellent construction engineering design appraisal in July 2003.

*  The Project was ploughed into with 5.7 billion RMB yuan and has a constructed floor area of 22459 square meters and yielded 100,000 Passatt cars a year.

*  The design of the Project adopted internationally up-to-date manufacturing technologies and equipment on one hand and combined SIMEE’s brave creativeness with the country’s real conditions on the other hand that brought about an ideal harmony of the building cluster with the atmosphere of the factory by making the most use of modern architectural artistry. The design was a masterwork that fully reflected the features of modern industrial production and fully epitomized modern architectural esthetics.

*  SIMEE was honored with “Shanghai Model Unit” in July 2003 for the sixth time in succession.

*  SIMEE was the winner of “the Contribution-Making Competition for Construction of Shanghai New Industrial Highlands” recognized by the CPC Committee of Shanghai Industrial Commission, Shanghai Economic Commission and Shanghai General Labor Union in June 2003.

*  The Comprehensive Design Information Management System (CDIMS) that was sponsored and developed by SIMEE was recognized with a first prize of Science and Technology Progress Awards by Shanghai Electric (Group) Co., Ltd. in May 2003.

*  SIMEE was credited as the “Model Enterprise” in the 2002 Shanghai Survey and Design Companies Comprehensive Appraisal and praised publicly.

* On March 18, 2003, the subordinates of SIMEE, Automobile Industry Engineering Institute and Industry Engineering Institute were announced established.

*  The following projects designed and wrought out by SIMEE were awarded by

the Ministry of Machine Building of the State Council and the municipal

government:

Comprehensive Design Information Management System (CDIMS) was given

 a Grade 2 Scientific And Technical Progress Award in mechanical

engineering.

Design Code for Central Laboratory in Machinery Factory was given a

 Grade 3 Excellent Design in mechanical engineering.

SG series Hydrant Boxes was given a Grade 2 Excellent Standard Design

of Shanghai Municipal Project Construction.

* SIMEE successfully passed the re-examination of its Quality Management

  System  (GB/TI9001-2000) and renewed the conformity certificate,

  conducted by Shanghai Quality System Auditing Center on December 17, 2002.
